I give a blend of professionalism mixed with fun. Once I have your manuscript, expect to see reaction comments, conversations with your MCs, emojis, and some sass sprinkled in like your own personal treasure hunt.

Alpha Reading

Provide detailed feedback on the overall structure of the manuscript. Focus will be on character development, plot, continuity, and other areas the author feels they may need help with.

Beta Reading

Provide feedback on the overall readability of the near-completion manuscript. Focus would be on identifying plot holes, consistency, pace, and sharing what was enjoyable/confusing about the manuscript.

Proofreading

Once your manuscript is edited, a final read through will allow for any straggling errors to be noticed and corrected. Things focused on would be punctuation, consistency, grammar, spelling, and more.

The final step in the editing process. A careful review of your manuscript to catch errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Consistency will also be checked. Don't think this is necessary? Have you read a book where the main character's earring suddenly jumped from his left side to his right in chapter 27? No? Let's keep it that way.

Proofreading will be a final look through and a first read through. As comic book and graphic novel authors, your words are not the only thing that needs proofreading. Your art does too. Don't think so? Ever see a panel where a man and a woman are talking...but the woman's speech bubble is actually pointing to the man? Did I unlock a new fear?

Court reporting is tough. The level of speed required to capture accurately is incredible. However, no matter how fast you are, you should still have another set of eyes to ensure you aren't changing your speakers or transposing words.
